Africa

Nick Brandt's photo's are amazing they look really good and each one gives me a sense of sadness coming from Africa's suffering ecosystem. When I first saw his photos they all gave this very sad tone and made me feel bad for them. The elephant photos make me feel the most sad because they just look miserable in the pictures, like there home has been destroyed.

This is one of my favorite photo's from Nick Brandt because the black and white just make it look very sad and like the elephants home was destroyed. A rule of photography in this photo is simplicity because this photo doesn't have a lot going on in it.

This is another one of my favorite photo's from Nick Brandt because the skeleton of the bird is representing that we have killed there environment. A rule of photography in this photo is simplicity because there isn't much going on in it.

Brandt uses a Pentax 67 and three different lenses, a 55mm, a 105mm, and a 200mm this is important because this is what he uses to take his amazing photo's.

Brandt's reason for taking these photo's is because he want to record the animals of Africa's last testament before they are completely destroyed by man kind.

I think his hope of taking these pictures is to show us whats happening in Africa to try and stop poaching.

"I wanted to create an elegy, a likely last testament to an extraordinary, beautiful natural woruld and its denizens that is rapidly disappearing before our eyes. I wanted to show these animals as individual spirits, sentient creatures equally as worthy of life as us."
